All Outages Restored After the "Big Chill" Event

As of Friday, February 27th at 4:45 p.m. Piedmont Electric had restored all power outages as a result of the winter storm that occurred late Wednesday night through Thursday morning.  Heavy, wet snow and ice from the storm weighed down power lines and caused tree limbs to snap and fall onto power lines as well as break some utility poles.  At the height of the outage Piedmont EMC had 7,000 customers without power, but thanks to our dedicated and hard-working employees, we worked around the clock to restore power to those affected.  Piedmont Electric’s outage restoration efforts after this winter storm would not have been possible without the assistance of crews from South River EMC, Surry-Yadkin EMC, Brunswick EMC, Pike Electric, Lee Electric and Lewis Tree Service.  We appreciate the patience and understanding of our members who were impacted by this winter storm.  Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes that you sent to us during this restoration event.
