All outages resulting from Thursday afternoon’s devastating storm were restored by midnight on Friday, June 14, 2013. Piedmont Electric crews worked around the clock to restore more than 10,200 outages that resulted from the high winds and rain that swept through our area late Thursday afternoon. Most outages occurred as a result of high winds blowing down trees and power lines. Wet soil from recent heavy rains made trees more susceptible to falling. Crews from Rutherford EMC, Blue Ridge EMC and Four County EMC joined Piedmont Electric crews on Friday to assist in our restoration efforts.
For our members who lost power during this severe storm, Piedmont Electric appreciates your patience and understanding throughout this restoration period.
