Hazardous Weather for our Service Territory May 15th

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook today, May 15.  We will be carefully monitoring this weather system and are prepared for potential power outages.  Because Piedmont Electric is located in the communities we serve, restoration crews are always on-site and can begin restoration work quickly.  Piedmont Electric members are asked to call our Outage Reporting number at 800.449.2667 to report an outage or call 800.222.3107 to talk with a Member Services Representative.  Please exercise caution around downed power lines.  To report a downed power line call us at 800.222.3107.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA. DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

A FEW STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS ARE POSSIBLE TODAY... MAINLY THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING BETWEEN NOON AND 10 PM. THE MAIN THREATS
WILL BE FROM DAMAGING WIND GUSTS OVER 60 MPH AND PERHAPS AN ISOLATED TORNADO.

ALSO... RAIN MAY BE HEAVY AT TIMES TODAY AND TONIGHT... RESULTING IN PONDING OF WATER ON ROADS...ESPECIALLY IN AREAS OF POOR 
DRAINAGE... AND SWOLLEN CREEKS AND STREAMS.
