How Energy Efficient is Your Home?

There’s more to your bill than just how you use energy in your daily routine. If you’ve been practicing good energy habits and participating in Piedmont Electric’s moneysaving programs, it can be frustrating to feel like your efforts aren’t reflected on your bill.

As it turns out, your home is most likely the culprit. The less energy efficient your home is, the higher your bill is likely to be, even if you’re doing all the right things on your end.

Fortunately, your co-op is here to help! Check out a few of the ways you can learn more about your home’s efficiency so you can save more money.

Energy Advisor Calculator

on phoneOur free, online energy advisor tool calculates estimated power use around your home based on the answers you provide to a few key questions. Then it provides you with cost-saving recommendations that can help make your home more energy-efficient.

Visit pemc.coop/analyze-my-bill and answer questions about your home’s location, size, insulation, heating and cooling system. If you enter your account number into the calculator, you’ll receive even more information specific to your home energy use. From there, you’ll get an overview of your projected energy costs for the week based on the way you use energy and the local forecast.

You’ll also be able to see a breakdown of your annual and monthly electricity costs as well as energy-saving tips you can start to implement immediately.
