Last Energy Star Sales Tax Holiday – November 1 – 3, 2013

The last NC Energy Star sales tax holiday is this weekend, November 1 – 3. State sales tax will not be charged on Energy Star qualified projects (used in a non-commercial fashion). An “Energy Star qualified product” meets the energy guidelines set by the U. S. EPA and the U. S. Dept. of Energy and is authorized to carry the Energy Star label. Visit energystar.gov to learn more about energy efficient products you may wish to buy this weekend. The following items qualify for the state sales tax exemption during the Energy Star tax holiday:

Clothes washers
Freezers and refrigerators
Central air conditioners and room air conditioners
Air-source heat pumps
Ceiling fans
Dehumidifiers
Programmable thermostats
