On the evening of Friday, October 24, 2014, Piedmont EMC lost the transformer inside Baynes Substation affecting approximately 2,000 members primarily located in Caswell County, with smaller numbers affected in Orange, Alamance and Person counties. Our linemen worked through the night to install a portable transformer until repairs can be made to the Baynes transformer. Power was restored to those affected by the outage before 7:20am Saturday, October 25, 2014. Piedmont EMC regrets any inconvenience that this power outage has caused.
