Piedmont’s Matching Grant Benefits 4-H

The 4-H Club Programs in Caswell, Orange and Person counties each recently received a $1,000 gift from Piedmont Electric Membership Corporation. The gift was a grant Piedmont Electric received from CoBank, a cooperative banking partner serving agri-business, rural infrastructure providers and Farm Credit association throughout the United States.

Under the bank’s “Sharing Success” program, CoBank matched contributions by its cooperative customers – like Piedmont EMC – to nonprofit organizations of their choice. Earlier this year Piedmont Electric sponsored a golf tournament to raise funds for 4-H programs in Orange, Person and Caswell counties. This money was part of the matching funds criteria for the CoBank contributions.

Piedmont Electric continually looks for ways to have a positive impact in the communities it serves, including programs that impact the young people in the area. “The Cooperative was especially pleased to receive this grant from CoBank to help our dollars go farther, especially when we can contribute it to such positive programs as our 4-H organizations,” says Randy Brecheisen, President & CEO of Piedmont Electric.
