Piedmont Electric crews continue to make headway in our winter storm restoration efforts with outage numbers down to 4,500 from a peak of 6,900. Also use extreme caution throughout today as trees will continue to fall resulting in unsafe conditions including the possibility of additional outages. There are reports of downed power lines in surrounding areas so please use extreme caution today. Always assume a downed power line is energized and stay away.
