Piedmont EMC crews have made significant progress in restoring outages that resulted from Thursday’s winter storm. At the height of the storm there were more than 7,000 members without power. As of 3:30am this morning only 769 outages remain. Piedmont EMC will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore outages to those remaining without power. To all members impacted by this winter storm, Piedmont Electric appreciates your patience and understanding during our restoration efforts as we know how important electricity is to our members. Remember if you see utility workers on the side of the road, please slow down and move over if possible. This keeps our workers safe and it’s also the law. Our winter emergency website will be removed once outages fall below 500 which we anticipate will be early this morning.
