Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for our area from 3PM this afternoon to Midnight tonight. Temperatures will fall dramatically as a strong cold front progresses southward through Central NC today. Lingering precipitation behind the front will transition to a Wintry Mix.
Potential accumulations up to a half inch of sleet and 0.10 to 0.20 inches of ice accrual are expected. Precipitation type and accumulation will vary significantly from north to sound across our area. This weather will make for hazardous road and travel conditions. If you must travel, slow down, leave plenty of following distance and exercise extreme caution, especially at intersection, bridges, and overpasses, on ramps and off ramps.
Please listen to NOAA Weather radio or go to weather.gov for more information to follow weather in our area.
