Name a Beneficiary for Your Capital Credits
As a member of Piedmont Electric Cooperative, you share in the benefits of being part of a not-for-profit electric utility, including capital credits! Each year, if we collect more money than it costs to run the co-op, those extra funds are returned to members as capital credits. These credits stay on your account until our board retires them, usually as a bill credit or check.
Members have the option to name a beneficiary for their capital credits. This means that if you were to pass away, your capital credits can go directly to a person or organization you choose, without going through the court system.
You can name a single:
- Family member
- Friend
- Organization or charity
- Piedmont Electric’s Helping Hand Foundation
Designating our Helping Hand Foundation allows your capital credits to support members in need, local teachers through Bright Ideas grants, college scholarships, youth leadership camps and more.
To elect to pay your capital credits to a beneficiary, please complete this form. All forms must be notarized and returned to Piedmont Electric.
