Low interest rate loans are available to eligible Piedmont Electric Cooperative members to finance the purchase and installation of energy efficient home upgrades. Approved members may borrow up to $15,000 for seven (7) years at five percent (5%) interest. This program is only available for existing homes served by Piedmont Electric. New construction does not qualify for the program.
Types of qualifying home upgrades:
- Electric vehicle charging stations (Level 2) or 240 V outlets for EV charging
- Electric water heaters
- Electric well pumps
- Energy efficient central A/C systems, including electric heat pumps of 15 SEER2 or greater
- New insulation or crawl space sealing
- Replacement of poorly insulated doors, windows
- Solar panels
- Solar water heaters
- Weather stripping
- Whole house or stand-by generation
