Nest smart thermostat owners can save money, lower their monthly bill and receive a $50 rebate by joining our smart thermostat savings program. (You must stay on the program for a minimum of 1 year or the rebate may be removed). By signing up, you get paid for allowing Piedmont Electric to adjust your thermostat through your in-home Wi-Fi a couple degrees on very hot afternoons in the summer.

However, you always have the final say in your home’s temperature! You can change your thermostat back at any time by using your smart thermostat’s wall unit or smart phone app.

To be eligible for Piedmont Electric rebates and credits, you must register your Nest smart thermostat online and participate in the Piedmont Electric Smart Thermostat Savings Program. You must have Wi-Fi to participate in this program.

Smart Thermostat Savings Program Benefits

$50 rebate

Receive a $50 initial rebate and monthly bill credits of $2.50 from June through September when you sign up for our smart thermostat savings program. You must stay on the program for a minimum of 1 year or rebate may be removed.

  1. Receive an initial rebate for your smart thermostat by signing up for the program and providing proof of purchase.* (This can be a new purchase or a past purchase).
  2.  Get a credit on your bill just for being a part of the program.*

By completing these two steps, you are providing proof of purchase.

  1. Sign up for our Smart Thermostat Savings Program online through the Nest website.
  2. Complete the Piedmont Electric terms of agreement for your Nest smart thermostat.

Yes! All you need is a Nest smart thermostat, Wi-Fi and permission from your landlord or apartment complex to install a smart thermostat.

Nest Installation

Piedmont Electric will not install or assist with installation of smart thermostats. Piedmont Electric is not responsible for any equipment issues or malfunctions. Please contact Nest thermostat support for any questions regarding your smart thermostat and see installation videos below:

After you have purchased your Nest thermostat, make sure you register it with Nest. Then fill out our agreement below to enroll in the program.
