Clean Energy Made Easy for Every Member

Have you ever thought about going solar but weren’t sure where to start? Maybe your roof isn’t ideal for solar panels, or you rent your home. With Piedmont Electric’s community solar program, you can still support solar energy without installing anything at your home.

Community solar is a simple way for co-op members to support clean, renewable energy produced right here in our community. Piedmont Electric operates solar fields at our Roxboro and Caswell County offices with more than 1,800 solar panels generating local solar power for participating members.

By subscribing, you’re helping support renewable energy while continuing to receive reliable power from your co-op. Whether you want to reduce your environmental footprint or simply try solar in an easy, affordable way, community solar makes it possible.

Here’s how it works:
  • Subscribe to solar panels in the community solar field for just $2.50 per panel per month.
  • Each month, you’ll receive a credit on your electric bill based on the electricity your subscribed panels produce.
  • Piedmont Electric handles all maintenance and upkeep, so you can enjoy solar energy without the hassle.
