Supporting members in need
Piedmont Electric Cooperative’s Helping Hand Foundation helps support the needs of our local communities thanks to the generous support of our members who round up their bill monthly.
In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the foundation has set aside funds to go towards energy assistance to help those in need. Please consider making a direct donation to our Helping Hand Foundation. Contributions, which are tax-deductible, will directly benefit those impacted in our community through energy assistance.
Members can make one-time or recurring monthly donations on their power bill in addition to our round-up option. Simply log on to your SmartHub account to enroll.
Go to Piedmont Electric’s Pay Now portal
Enter your account number as “1” and your name as “Helping Hand”
The minimum online donation is $5.00. You will receive a receipt for your records after completion.
Make checks payable to “Helping Hand Foundation” and mail to:

If you would like to donate your capital credit to the foundation to support energy assistance for those in need, please cash or deposit your capital credit and then you can donate online or by mail using the instructions above. Do not return your capital credit check to the co-op.
If you would like to donate future capital credits to the foundation then complete our capital credits beneficiary designation form and select option 2. All forms must be notarized and returned to Piedmont Electric. Notaries are available at our offices, free of charge.
