Smart Comfort, Smart Savings

What is the Smart Thermostat Savings Program?

The Smart Thermostat Savings Program is designed to help members reduce their energy consumption during peak demand periods while maintaining comfort in their homes. By participating, you allow the cooperative to make minor, temporary adjustments to your Nest smart thermostat during times of high energy demand, typically during hot summer afternoons.

These small adjustments help reduce strain on the electrical grid during peak times, which benefits all members through lower overall system costs. The program is completely voluntary, and you maintain full control over your thermostat settings, with the ability to override any adjustments if needed.

Simple Qualification Requirements

Joining the Smart Thermostat Savings Program is easy. To qualify, you need:

  • An active residential account with the cooperative
  • A Nest smart thermostat connected to central electric heating and cooling equipment
  • A reliable home Wi-Fi connection for your thermostat
  • Enrollment of your device with our energy management partner
