Smart Thermostat Savings Program
Eligibility: Wi-Fi connected to Nest smart thermostat.
How it works: Allow Piedmont Electric to adjust your thermostat by a few degrees on hot summer afternoons (June–September). You will use less energy while staying comfortable.
Benefits: $100 initial rebate / $5 monthly bill credit (June–September)
Time-of-Day Rate
Eligibility: Any member willing to shift energy use to off-peak hours.
How it works: Run major appliances, cool your home and shift other energy use to off-peak hours when demand is low.
Benefits: Lower energy costs for off-peak use / Help reduce overall grid demand
Electric Vehicle Time-of-Day Rate
Eligibility: EV owners with vehicle registration at your service address.
How it works: Charge your EV overnight during super off-peak hours for the best rates.
Benefits: Lower overnight charging costs / $50 one-time bill credit
New and Improved Rebates
Eligibility: New smart thermostat, a/c unit, heat pump, insulation, duct work, pool pump or electric vehicle.
How it works: Installations that meet certain energy efficiency requirements are eligible for rebates.
Benefits: Immediate rebate / Less energy use long-term
Energy Saver North Carolina Rebates
Eligibility: Households earning up to 150% of the area median income in your county may be eligible for rebates from the state.
How it works: Incentivizes whole-home energy upgrades and high-efficiency electric appliances.
Benefits: Savings on energy-efficient upgrades / Lower monthly energy use from these improvements
