At Piedmont Electric, we believe that renewable energy should be accessible to everyone whether you own your home, rent an apartment or simply want a hassle-free way to support clean power. Our community solar program offers an affordable, low-risk opportunity to participate in solar energy without installing panels on your property.
A Brief History
Launched in 2016, the community solar program is part of your co-op’s ongoing commitment to our Brighter Future initiative. Recognizing the challenges and costs associated with traditional home-mounted solar panels, Piedmont Electric constructed solar fields at our Roxboro and Caswell County offices. These fields, comprising more than 1,800 panels, were designed to provide members with a lower-cost, lower-hassle way to engage with solar power.
How It Works
-
Subscription: For just $2.50 per panel per month, you can subscribe to the energy output of a panel. There is no limit to the number of panels to which you can subscribe.
-
Bill Credit: Each month, you’ll receive a credit on your electric bill based on the amount of electricity your subscribed panels produce.
-
Maintenance-Free: Piedmont Electric handles all maintenance and repairs, so you can enjoy the benefits of solar energy without any upkeep.
