Meet Our Newest Board Member

Piedmont Electric Cooperative members elected Kim Woods to represent the ninth district on our board of directors. Kim lives in the Schley community and has been affiliated with Piedmont Electric for 30 years. Read on to learn a little bit more about Kim.

Why do you want to serve on the board of directors?

I feel it is important to serve and give back to the community in which I live. The local area, along with the individual benefit when people become involved in working towards improvements in the well-being of the shared environment.

What experience or knowledge do you have that you feel would be useful in this role?

While I have been a member for decades, I have never worked in the business of supplying electricity to the membership, but I am excited and eager to learn something new. I have served on other boards, and I bring that knowledge and experience of working with a group to further the cooperative and its goals.

What is your vision for Piedmont Electric?

My vision would be for Piedmont Electric to continue to provide safe, affordable and reliable electricity to the members and to be a supportive community partner.

Is there anything else you would like members to know about you?

I am proud to be a lifelong resident of Orange County and am committed to serving the membership to the best of my ability.
