Making Payments Easier
Piedmont Electric members can have their monthly bill paid automatically by bank, debit or credit card draft. To review your statement and monthly electric use, you can receive a bill statement in the mail or you can enroll in Paperless Billing and view your statement online at SmartHub.
- Once you have logged in to SmartHub, select the Billing and Payments tab.
- From there, you can choose the Auto Pay Program and set up or modify your payment information.
- Draft dates are determined by each member’s billing cycle: cycles 32-40 on the 6th; cycles 2-10 on the 13th; cycles 12-20 on the 22nd; and cycles 22-30 on the 28th. Your billing cycle can be found on your bill.

Do you want to pay the same amount each month? If so, then budget billing might be for you! Budget billing evens out the amount members pay so they can avoid paying higher bills during the weather extremes of summer and winter. Many members find this helps them budget their energy dollars more efficiently.
Your budget billing amount will be based on your previous 12 months electric use. You will pay a set amount for 11 months. In the 12th month, a “settle-up” payment will be due. A new budget billing amount will then be calculated and the process begins again.
To find out more about budget billing, please call us at 800.222.3107.
Want to go green and help us reduce the amount of paper and postage we use? Tired of getting the bill in the mail each month? Whatever the reason, you can sign up for paperless billing by simply logging in to SmartHub and changing the “Printed Bill Status” slider to the “OFF” position.
Our prepay program allows you to pay on your own schedule. On prepay, you don’t have to worry about receiving a monthly bill for the electricity you have used. Instead, you can make payments before you use it and replenish your balance based on your budget. Consider it like putting gas in your car – you fill it up or put money on your account and make sure you have enough of a credit on the account to keep your power on.
You can sign up for low balance phone calls, text message and/or emails letting you know when it’s time to make another payment. You want to always keep a credit balance on your account to avoid any interruption in service. Our prepay members can save as much as 12% by becoming more aware of daily energy usage and making more informed energy choices. SmartHub is the easiest way to check your account balance at any time and add money on as needed.
There is no utility credit check required to start the prepay program and no late fees. For additional details on this program, review the prepay contract, contact us at info@pemc.coop or call us at 800.222.3107.
